The Worldbuilding Game

The Worldbuilding Game gives you and your team prompts to craft a future world: setting, characters, and conflict. Then, turn your vision into a compelling movie trailer for the next sci-fi blockbuster! This resource will help you strengthen your future-focused imagination as you practice the Worldbuilding approach.

Facilitation Suggestions

Worldbuilding allows us to imagine, prototype, and even experience new futures in multi-dimensions. We are able to suspend our present to immerse ourselves into the future – drawing us into dramatically different possibilities. Worldbuilding promotes systems thinking, applied imagination and sensemaking. It asks us to connect disparate elements into more cohesive wholes, transporting us to new worlds and prompting new discovery.

The Worldbuilding Game offers initial prompts to create the scaffold for a future world, but participants have to fill in the story. If you’re working with extra-creative learners who want to create their own settings or characters, go for it. The possibilities are endless!
